The Techniques
This post summarises the techniques used on the different bras, and shows you where to find them. Some of the bras are pictured in The Bras, and their numbers are used here.
Neckline Finish (Top of Cup)
Elastic - Demonstrated in Barrett Bralette, other bras using this technique are Broidre Anglaise bra.
Faced - Demonstrated in Maja Bra, and bra 3.
Lace edging - Demonstrated in Creating a Look (adding lace to the neckline and turning over), Attaching Lace to a Bra (adding lace to the edge and cutting fabric away), bra 2 used bridal lace edging for the whole upper cup.
Stretch lace edging - Was used in bra 6.
Tricot - Demonstrated in Devoure Bra, this technique was also used in bra 1
Other edge finishes (armholes, back and bottom)
Fold over elastic - Demonstrated in Broidre Anglaise bra.
Fluffy backed lingerie elastic - Demonstrated in Creating a Look, other bras using this technique are yyy
Strap
Adjustable elastic - Demonstrated in Creating a Look.
Non adjustable elastic - Strap elastic sewn to the back of the bra, and adjusted to fit the front of the bra when it was tried on - bras 1, 2, and 3 all have this type of strap.
Self (same fabric as bra) - Demonstrated in Maja Bra, other bras using this technique are Broidre Anglaise bra.
Tricot - Demonstrated in Barrett Bralette.
No strap - Devoure Bra, and the other bras that used the second pattern I bought - bras 6 and 8.
Hooks - Demonstrated in Creating a Look, another bra using this technique is Maja Bra.
Lining
Fully Lined - Demonstrated in Maja Bra.
Top cup lined - Bra 3
Bottom cup lined - Bra 2
Centre cup lined - None
Side cup lined - Demonstrated in Devoure Bra.
Back lined - Demonstrated in Barrett Bralette.
